Love is blind just as justice is blind. So it is no wonder that Libra rules both. The polarity of Libra “I balance” and Aries “I am” highlights the fine line between the needs of our “self” and how we integrate the “other.”
Libra in its highest form isn’t that giddy, shallow fairytale love at first sight. It’s that deep, unconditional true love. Libra is the love that shows up and stays through thick and thin. It is the love that says I really see you and I’m not going anywhere.
Relationships are the hardest thing we do in life. It is through relating that our greatest growth is stimulated. Libra is the natural ruler of the 7th house. We aren’t talking about 5th house Leo ruled, romantic, fleeting love stories but marriage, commitment and partnership. It is the real deal.
Tonight we experience the Full Moon in Libra and yet things couldn’t be more out of balance. The sky itself is very unbalanced with the full moon reflecting all of the planets in the other half of the sky. This lunation wants us to see the areas of imbalance that exist within our personal relationships and on the world’s stage.
With this full moon opposing Chiron we are being asked to address our deepest wounds and heal. Much is being reflected back at us currently if we will take off the blindfold to see. Along with Chiron in Aries the Sun is shining the spotlight on our wounding that has put us here in this predicament. We are being offered the opportunity to heal if we will relinquish control.
Let’s not forget we are also amidst the unusual occurrence of two Aries New Moon’s. The first arrived last month at 0 degrees. The second will be at 29 degrees and is also a very important North Node Solar Eclipse. Yes we are now amidst Eclipse Season.
With the Eclipse Nodes moving into Aries/Libra soon we will all be calling into our awareness the dance between these two archetypes within our lives. This nodal transit places the emphasis on the Aries North Node so we can expect to focus on self-awareness and self-love over the next 18 months. This Libra Moon along with the two Aries New Moon’s are offering us a pre requisite crash course as we embark upon this journey of deep self exploration.
Known for charm, peacefulness, fairness and idealistic, diplomatic behavior it seems things have been anything but Libran in nature recently. Perhaps what we see or rather what we don’t see right now is crucial. Justice asks us to acknowledge our tendency to bias and act blindly in favor of equality. While the notion of wearing blinders in love suggests our lacking of perception, discernment or awareness might backfire in the long run. Let’s be real if love wasn’t blind we’d probably all be screwed!
As we work to refine our vision under this full moon we can examine where imbalances exist within our relationships with ourselves and our partners. We can get ahead of the curve by identifying and addressing any problems now. We can also practice more discernment by seeking real evidence and facts above opinion as we navigate all that is being thrown at us out in the world.
